1 Requirements of stainless steel substrate
Substrate materials have great influence on the performance of the thick film components,therefore, it has has a certain technical requirements for thick film circuit substrate:which can stand 850% of the sintering process;A certain amount of mechanical strength;can be easliy make as flat surface ,Substrate chemical and physical properties should be adapted perfectly to medium paste, conductor resistance and paste,which should have high thermal conductivity,the linear expansion coefficient should match the thick film used in the pulp.According to the requirements of above , 430 stainless steel is the good choice.

2 The design of stainless steel substrate thick film electric heating element
Electric heating element graphic design is the key point of thick fim heater,, it includes resistance layer’s current density design,design of the power density,all those directly affect the product’s reliability and service life.
A.Current density design
Under the condition of 10-12 um of the resistance layer,the maximum current should be controlled under 3 mm for the current design.
B.Power density design
Keep resistance layer thickness of 10-12 um, its power density generally can reach 60 w/cm2,and l10w/cm2 max.During power density design,the impact of resistance paste’s temperature coefficient (tcr) should fully be considered.Since when heating layer work,the temperature rise,Under the action of TCR,power density decline,and canot meet the need.
